It's gonna be a white Christmas... tissue piles at least

I am finally back from my week long adventure in the great state of Minnesota. It was a very long week installing a nurse call system in two nursing homes near Minneapolis. Though I was promised plenty of time to be a "girl" at the mall of America. I was only alotted a few hours on Thursday night. Oh well! Better than nothing I suppose. I did get to meet quite a few interesting old folks, I guess your sense of humor increases when you are just left alone in your room all day.
But while I was there in the frigid weather (10 degrees to be exact) I caught one heck of a cold. I just LOVE the northern states. And I got to test Brett's husbandy skills this weekend. I am happy to report that the man did GREAT! He made me soup, he held up a bowl while I coughed up flem, made sure there were plenty of tissues near me and even cleaned the house. What a guy.... :) All the while he said I looked beautiful. Yeah right....I looked like the girl from the exorcist. I felt like
head really could turn all the way around. These coming weekends should be interesting with the 6 Christmases we have to go to so keep posted for some interesting stories.

WOW this is exciting...my first blog!!!

Hi I am Lindsey Shunkwiler and I am now a fellow blogger!!

I guess I should start by saying a little bit about myself and my family. I am 24 years old and a newlywed as of June 7th, 2008. I work as a regional sales coordinator with Stanley Senior Technologies. My husband Brett is 25 years old and a financial advisor with Ameritas. We have a baby Golden Retriever named Marley who will be 5 months on October 25th.
There isn't a lot going on in our lives right now other than recently putting in wood floors in our home. Who knew my hubbie was such a handyman. But we couldn't have done it without the assistance of our family members. My family as well as Brett's brother helped us out a lot and we really appreciated it. The floors look AWESOME!
Other than that we have just been working, keeping the man in business, or so I think the term goes. This weekend is one of my best friends bachelorette party. I am so excited to be a part of Marie's special time as one of her bridesmaids. We have been friends for a long time and while I am extremely happy for her and her soon-t0-be hubbie Eric, I am also extremely sad to know she will soon be moving to California. So we will try to make the most of the few weeks we have left together. Marriage is such a wonderful thing and I am so happy to have married my best friend and I wish a lifetime of happiness to my good friends.
I think I have already broken the blog rule by writing a book rather than a paragraph...so that is all I have for now. Thanks for putting up with my babling.
